The Norwegian head office is centrally located at Gullaug in Lier municipality just outside Drammen. We have a well-developed distribution network with strategically located centers of gravity, offices and bulk stations throughout the country. In total we are approx. 120 employees.

We are now looking for a new SHES advisor for Orica at Lier, here you will be responsible for the general SHES work as well as to drive the continuous improvement work forward. In this role, it is important that you are good at communicating, driving processes and passionate about the SHES profession. We want you to have experience from some of the points below.
Champion SHES values and behaviours at all levels of the sub-regional organisation.
Drive implementation and embedment of Orica SHES Department processes and programs.
Provide advice, expertise, and assistance to line management to ensure business operations are conducted in a manner consistent with the Orica SHES Policies & Standards and local laws & regulations.
Verify and ensure compliance with Orica’s Group standards and procedures and implement corrective actions to address findings.
Manage compliance with relevant regulatory requirements that are associated with day-to-day operations.
Guide and coach management on the interpretation of legislative requirements, and technical aspects of the department.
Organize SHES training for personnel in accordance with Orica standards and legal requirements.
Conduct hazard identification, support the development of bow-ties, assess and verify effectiveness of controls and support implementation of gaps and maintenance of high control effectiveness.
Conduct and review investigations including identifying direct and root causes, and support identification and tracking of corrective actions.
Maintain a professional and constructive working relationship between Sub-Regional Area and all regulatory bodies as needed.
Collaborate with other internal and external specialists for collaborating on best practice and the improvement agenda relevant to the position and its requirements.
Drive the implementation and management of preventive and mitigating controls to manage SHES material risks.
Any other activities deemed appropriate by the Sub-Regional Area or Group
We also want you to have an education in Occupational Safety, Engineering or science degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) in fields related to occupational health & safety or similar.
Other important things about the role is that the role although primarily focused on Norway will also be required to support Sweden and Finland operations as required. Business travels can be up to 50% in periods.
